Garlic-Butter Pan-Seared Goat Chops
Tender goat chops seasoned simply and finished with garlic butter. This quick recipe allows the natural flavor of the goat meat to remain the focus.

Ingredients
- 4 goat chops
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 garlic cloves, lightly crushed
- Fresh rosemary or thyme, optional
Instructions
- 01Remove the goat chops from the refrigerator 20–30 minutes before cooking.
- 02Pat the chops dry with a paper towel.
- 03Season both sides with salt, black pepper and garlic powder.
- 04Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, then add the olive oil.
- 05Place the chops in the hot skillet and sear for 3–4 minutes on the first side.
- 06Flip and cook for another 2–4 minutes, depending on thickness.
- 07During the final minute, add the butter, crushed garlic and rosemary or thyme, if using.
- 08Spoon the melted garlic butter over the chops.
- 09Check the thickest part away from the bone; cook to at least 145°F.
- 10Remove from the skillet and rest for at least 3 minutes before serving.
